Supporting English Learners
with Technology
Join us this summer for the launch of TechEL, a new set of resources located at Curriculum Companion to support English Learners with technology.
The TechEL staff development and technology resources provides current research, effective instructional strategies, and relevant technology resources for supporting English Learners with technology in all core curriculum.
Trainer of Trainers Institute
July 27-29, 2009
9 am - 4 pm, SCOE
The Trainer of Trainers Institute will focus on core curriculum resources for English Learners available at TechEL and models for redelivering the content to teachers at the district or school level. Teachers will receive hands-on learning using Inspiration, Photo Story 3, and Movie Maker software, and will create instructional materials for English Learner students. Tips on how to use iPhoto and iMovie will also be shared.
Participants will leave with a toolkit of teacher resources, strategies, and knowledge of how to effectively support English Learners with technology.
All participants will receive a copy of Inspiration 8, the book Classroom Instruction that Works for English Language Learners, and a trainer account to Curriculum Companion.

Technology Integration Workshops for ELA and English Learners
Join us in August for hands-on technology integration workshops focused on English Language Arts and English Learners. You will learn various new software programs and strategies on integrating technology with your ELA curriculum. You will also learn how to access and integrate the
resources at Curriculum Companion, receive a one year teacher subscription to
the web site, and a copy of a Classroom Instruction that Works book.
